On February 11, 1974 in a modern hospital room at Methodist Central Hospital, a baby girl weighing seven pounds, seven ounces, was born and destined to be more than anymore else on earth.
At the age of six she took her first strut down the runway at Hanley Elementary School. Later on in life while she attended Sherwood Junior High, she took up an after school job as an Assistant Majorette manager. She later laid all her extracurricular activities aside and focused on her high school education at White Station High. Two years later she was accepted in to Tennessee Rehabilitation Center in Smyrna, Tennessee where she received a diploma for a preschool teacher. During the time while she was on intern in Memphis, Tennessee at Douglass Elementary School she taught ages four and five year old children. While she was there in Memphis a tragedy occurred in May of 1994, she had an injury that left her with a permanent limp and had to discontinue her participation at the school. She wouldn’t have to if she didn’t have to at that time. After she got better two years later and begin to and about two weeks of being stuck at home she attended college at Middle Tennessee State University for about 18 months, and she then decided to go back home and go to State Technical College.
She soon realized that she was not the type of girl that liked to be tied down, so she took up the first thing, she started off with modeling. For about two years, she attended John Casablanca’s Modeling & Career Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Then she attended Carolyn’s Finishing Academy in modeling and acting, and got a chance to play in several productions such as “The Wiz” and this was performed at different high schools.
She does not let this discourage her, but only push her to do her best. After teaching at Trinity Baptist Church for 3 years, teaching children ages 3, 4, and 5 years of age was a technique for her. She had to be good in what she did, such as making those lessons plans, planning the snacks and lunches, and seeing that everything was ready for the next morning.
In the fall of 2000, she began driving the school bus at Laidlaw, which is now First Student. Here, she has been working for the past 9 years specializing in special needs children with all types of disabilities. Just about 3 years ago, she has taken up driving on weekends at Air Serv. Do not think that this is all; she still has not given up on her Acting & Modeling career as of today. She has performed in plays, movies such as Black Snake Moan, Third Wheel Date, Lovin,’ and Just the Two of Us. She has modeled in many fashion shows and inspires her little sister that anybody can do anything; no matter what the condition. She has dragged her mom and sister on numerous road trips applying for agents and auditioning for movies and plays.
She still continues to inspire co-workers, family & friends with her motivation to continue college. She is determined to receive her Associate & Bachelor’s degree. This young lady is an inspiration to all and will remain as one. Guess What? That little baby girl that was born in the modern hospital at Methodist Central Hospital on February 11, 1974 was me, Angela Denise Williams, and I am an Inspiration.
